two little tables

I have been having some fun, messing around with some paintings.
I found this ad and thought what a fun idea, a coffee, coffee table.
I am pretty pleased with the end results. I am just learning how to stain, I need some more practice.

Sorry the picture is so bad, I did not have my camera so it had to be done with my phone.

This is a table I picked up for a buck at a yard sale. My oldest son said he wanted a railroad table to use for his art projects. (he loves the railroad because his daddy is a signalman for the railroad) so we have a slight obsession when it comes to trains and railroads.
He found a picture by an artist name CJ Marshall he wanted me to try and do it on the table. So I thought I would give it a try. After many, many hours of painting and one sore back I finished. He LOVED it.

Sorry again for the picture quality.
Have a Merry and Blessed Christmas Season.

Shabby, Farm, Family Table

I just finished my first post pregnancy project, and it felt good. I pieced together some random pieces to make what I think is quite a lovely dinning set.

This was a pretty big project, but I am very pleased with the end result.

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and receive many blessings.

Coming Soon & a Beautiful Entry

Here is a table I am currently working on. I love this piece. It is a huge solid table.
See the red benches in the upper right hand corner, those will be refinished to go with this big guy.
This is my moms' entry and I just thought it was so pretty, I thought I would share.

Hope you all enjoy this beautiful day.

A long time coming

I have had this chair now for about 6 months, in many different stages of her makeover. I finally finished her up, after weeks of her staring at me and taunting me. I showed her.

This is how she started. The pictures don't do the fabric justice on how gross it truly was.

She then sat like this for a while. My creative Dad had the idea to take the back from the ladder back chair, that my large bootie broke, and use it to fill in the center of the frame.

So she sat in this state for a few more months.

And finally!

I re-upholsterd the seat with a painters tarp that I painted with this great french logo which can be found here,

Hope you enjoyed. Have a wonderful day.

Chippy paint

I purchased, what could possibly be the sturdiest coffee table ever. I found this guy for $5 at a  recent yard sale. Let me tell you, when I find something sturdy, I jump on it. My kiddos think a coffee table is also a stage, or a chair, I believe this one was a horse not to long ago. I grabbed a few paints I had on hand and mixed, to make a dark yellowish color, I sprayed with Krylons Celery Green first and was going to go the french coffee table route, but my daughter broke my Overhead projector, while watching herself shadow dance along the wall. So I went chippy instead. I took an old candle and smothered my fingers in the wax and rubbed it all over the table. I then took the yellow and brushed it on. The yellow came off quite nicely where the wax was a bit thicker. I am happy with the turn out.

Hope you all have a great day.

Pink or purple

So my girls had a pretty gross night stand in their room. I promised I would do something fun  to it. So I set up to paint in my room (this pesky bed rest is getting to me). We had one big problem, One wanted pink and the other purple, so I had to come up with a compromise and keep it as simple as possible.

This was the picture Bridget wanted me to use. You can find this great graphic here.

The girls were very pleased with the compromise.
