Funky Junky Planter Box

Remember these guys. The solid dresser drawers I pulled out of a dumpster. (My favorite kind of Saturday.) I also found a little coffee table with great legs, but an awful top. So what better thing to do than merge the two. (sorry forgot to take a picture of the table.)
I love having plants, but hate spending the cash on expensive planters,(lets face it I am super cheap),
so I thought putting the two together would make a great big planter. I love how random this piece turned out.

I painted all sides to add some character.

I can not wait to get some flowers in this bad boy.
Guess I will have to wait for some sun.
Thanks for stopping by.

I Think I am in Love

Hello! I just finished up this beast. I still can't believe someone trashed this guy.
I am absolutely in love with the way he turned out.

before (in all his garbage glory)

I decided to go with a simple white for the paint and I added some legs to give this guy a little oomph!
I stained the top with a home made stain of coffee grounds and Balsamic vinegar. I love the way it came out. It aged the wood nicely and gave it a ton of character.

Hope you all enjoyed this guy as much as I do.

Little Things

Today I want to share two little projects.
First is this coffee table I found on the side of the road. She was pretty, but her legs were falling off.
So I went a whole new route with this table.
The after was inspired by my children. I painted the frame green with chalk paint in the center. I used white acrylic to paint the jars and the marbles. I have chalk ink, (my favorite purchase EVER!) to fill in the marbles, with each child's good choices and kind behavior to their siblings.

I can easily erase the colors when each one fills their jar. Hopefully I won't have to add Kolbe any time soon. The kids love it and we have had no yelling in two days.

I bought this next piece for $3 at a garage sale, I thought the flowers where so pretty, but didn't quite go with soooooo much gold.
So I added a little green, and I LOVE it.
Hope you enjoyed.
One last thing, I found this beauty,( I can not wait to start working on) at the same garage sale. It actually was hiding behind a bunch of boxes in the garage. It was not for sale. They said it was their grandmothers old cooler. With a little sweet talking, they sold it to me for $30.

This guy made my day!
Have a great weekend.
