oak

I picked this beauty up at a a garage sale. Looks like someone started a redo and gave up.

So I stripped her down to the bare wood, and gave her a walnut stain, with some white drawers.
I chose a graphic for the front oak-leaves-with-acorns. from the Graphics Fairy, which I hand painted.

Curbside Collection For the Week

So we had a pretty good week finding junk!
All free ready to be thrown away.
My sister found this big gal in Vegas.

I found this guy and his two brothers in my little town.

This children's table was found, while driving around the lake.

This Beauty was found on a nap time drive.

Pieces of Trash

So the other day driving home, I was doing my usual looking around for any furniture that has been tossed out into the cold. We drove past a house with a huge dumpster out front, and sitting along side the dumpster was this great big basket.
I let my kids pick out some paint and went at it.

While grabbing the basket , I noticed some great legs sticking out of the top and asked my husband to jump in. the loving man he is, he climbed up and pulled out this great entry table, well pieces of the entry table. We gathered all the pieces and brought it home for some LOVE!

I forgot to take a picture of her, in all its' pieces. So here is the before, after the repairs.

These pictures do not show how truly gross this table was. It looks as if she had lived a pretty rough life.

So here she is after some serious R&R.
I hope you love her as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping by.

One more picture, just because this is my favorite Halloween decoration this year. Good thing I listened to my kids ideas on this one.
Have a great day!

In the family

Once upon a time 30+ years ago my sweet dad built my lovely mother a very solid hutch.
Mom and Dad

This hutch was always a fixture some where in our family home through out the years.

My older sisters (pictured above), and they are oooollllllddddd now so that gives you an idea of how long this guy has been around.
Some time in my late teens, this hutch became mine. This large, heavy piece has traveled to over a dozen homes, and has been several colors over the years.
Well we just moved to a smaller home and I did not want to get rid of it. So I turned it into our new/old entertainment cabinet. I love the way this turned out.

I painted the back black to blend the TV.
Thanks for stopping by.

I see red

I love my  new neighborhood, people just give a way their furniture all of the time. I just came across this lovely lady on a walk and had to get it, and again it was FREE!!!!!!!! YAY! for FREE!

It was a nice and simple redo, but I love it!

Have a good one.
