Banana Cream Dream

here are some photos of the second piano i did for the company, My First Piano. they named the piano banana cream dream. i must say, i think she is quite lovely.

The wine rack with an identity crisis.

I was out on garage sale Saturday, miraculously, by myself I might add! When I saw this wine rack, looking sad and outdated. I thought I need to help this poor little thing (always the care taker). So I took her home, (yes it is a girl). With a new coat of paint, some new, shiny glass knobs, and the removal a few unnecessary things, she has a new purpose in life. By the way, her name is Sophie.

some scarlet and some black

i have finished my latest piano makeover. it actually went a lot easier than expected, thanks to my new paint sprayer. here is a before
i decided to go red with a black antiquing glaze. here is the red before the glaze. i think the red is fun without
the glaze as well.
and the after.
sorry i don't have a beautiful background.
just picture this piano in a green field of flowing grass, surrounded by a white fence and an old matching red barn off in the distance.
moving a piano around is not easy.

manly bench and garage sale day!!!!!!

so i bought a bench for the end of my bed, it was completely covered in a camel colored pleather, legs and all. my husband wanted something a little more masculine, so i thought i would try my first attempt at reupholstering. i am awful at remembering to take the before pictures (i am working on that), but here is the after.

not to shabby
note: ten children under the age of 7 were present during this task

my kids have come to learn, that Saturdays are GARAGE sale day. we do our normal routine of coffee and coffee bean breakfasts, and then we are off. i had some luck today and my some what empty car ended up quite full. i love those days!
happy Saturday!

projects in my head

i found this nice couple, sitting together. they really wanted to come home with me. i have been told (by my dear cousin john), that we are a foster care for furniture.
i am curious to see how this love story ends.

Steps to cleanliness

I found this little step and thought " this is an answer to the bathroom stool battle." My children are constantly pushing, screaming and having knock down, drag out fights over the one little, cheap plastic Target stool we have
this sad little stool was begging for a face lift.

.
Here is the end result.

a little boys design

my son has really enjoyed helping me do some re-dos. i must say he has a good eye. on one of our garage sale adventures, i found this old thing.
Bass chose this manly shade of blue, and wanted a football theme. I think this worked pretty well.
what would i do without my bass.

something old (and pretty gross)

so i went out to some garage sales,  like usual, but was lucky to go without kids. my mom decided to join me on last weekends treasure hunt. we went to many sales and found a little of this and a little of that. then we arrived at an estate sale, that looked like it should be in an episode of american pickers, or better yet hoarders. among all the treasures around, i was drawn to one chair, i tried to ignore it , but it was calling out to me. I am not sure why, because this poor chair was a wreck. i kept on ignoring this chair, and found a set of matching chairs, that did not need as much work, but this chair was still in my head. i bought the two and asked if they would throw the poor, mess of a chair in. they did.
isn't she a beauty. she smelled as good as she looked.
here is a before from the side.

when my dear husband saw this, he told me, this time I bit off more than i could chew.
i took that as a challenge. (i am not going to lie i was a bit scared myself.)
here she is all stripped down and vulnerable.
but after some work, she turned out quite lovely, i must say.

i can't wait until glen gets home.
