something old (and pretty gross)

so i went out to some garage sales,  like usual, but was lucky to go without kids. my mom decided to join me on last weekends treasure hunt. we went to many sales and found a little of this and a little of that. then we arrived at an estate sale, that looked like it should be in an episode of american pickers, or better yet hoarders. among all the treasures around, i was drawn to one chair, i tried to ignore it , but it was calling out to me. I am not sure why, because this poor chair was a wreck. i kept on ignoring this chair, and found a set of matching chairs, that did not need as much work, but this chair was still in my head. i bought the two and asked if they would throw the poor, mess of a chair in. they did.
isn't she a beauty. she smelled as good as she looked.
here is a before from the side.

when my dear husband saw this, he told me, this time I bit off more than i could chew.
i took that as a challenge. (i am not going to lie i was a bit scared myself.)
here she is all stripped down and vulnerable.
but after some work, she turned out quite lovely, i must say.

i can't wait until glen gets home.

  1. I love all your projects. We go do the yard sales on Saturday mornings with my sisters, mom,and my sisters kids. So fun.

  2. why thank you, my sister and I unfortunatly don't live in the same state, but are both yard sale junkies. we call each other at least 20 times on Saturday mornings. Thanks for the comments and following our blog. Have a wonderful day
