Dreaming of the Lake & Dumpster Diving

I went and did a little garage sale-ing this weekend. There was a huge dumpster in front of one of the Estate Sales. I drove up and instantly saw these pulls sticking out of the top. So I climbed on up and found nine of these beauties.
Attached to these awesome solid drawers. The ideas started flowing.
As I was searching I saw the top of what looked like a table, I was super excited to see what this might be. The nice man putting on the Estate sale offered to help me. When he pulled it out I was so thrilled, I felt like a kid  at Christmas. He said it was in his dad's garage the last 60 years. They thought it was trash.
I found all of the drawers and the top is beautiful. I started working on it as soon as I got home. I can not wait to see what he is going to look like.

Now for a finished project.
This is my before, cute but a little boring.
I thought I would add a little something to dress her up.
I think she looks quite adorable.

I actually repainted the body, due to the fact I have six kids constantly touching everything.
I went with a cute image found here vintage-beach-signs, and made a few changes.

I used chalk ink to do the drawing and put a clear coat over to protect the surface. I think it would be great inside or out. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

  2. It always amazes me what folks throw away. I went through my sisters neighbors trash and got a bunch of houseplants and flower pots. My sister thinks me crazy but I do not care. Love your LAKE table.
